Electronic Engine Controls - Brake Pedal Position (BPP) Switch Focus 2004.75 (07/2004-)
Removal and Installation

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section  414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables.

2. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration(s) and table(s).

3. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  1. Initialize the door window motors. For additional information, refer to Section  501-11 Glass, Frames and Mechanisms.

Removal Details

Item 5 : BPP switch

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure that the brake pedal is kept in the rest position and is not pressed or moved during the removal of the BPP switch. Failure to follow this may result in damage to the BPP switch.
    Remove the BPP switch.
    • Rotate the BPP switch counter clockwise and remove.

Installation Details

Item 5 : BPP switch

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure that the brake pedal is kept in the rest position and is not pressed or moved during the installation of the BPP switch. Failure to follow this may result in damage to the BPP switch.
    Install the BPP switch.
    1. Install the BPP switch.
    1. Rotate the BPP switch.

Item 3 : Instrument panel lower trim panel retaining clips.

  1. Install the instrument panel lower trim panel retaining clips to the instrument panel lower trim panel.
