Remove the camshaft. For additional information, refer to Camshaft in this section. | | -
NOTE:Keep the valve tappets in order for installation. Remove the valve tappets. | | -
Install the special tools. | | -
Turn the engine, until the piston of the cylinder to be worked on is at top dead center (TDC). | | -
NOTE:Do not turn engine once valve collets have been removed. Using the special tools, remove the valve collets. | | -
Remove the valve springs. | | -
Using the special tool, remove the valve seals. | Installation | -
Install a valve stem mouting sleeve over the valve collet groove (valve shown removed for clarity). | | -
Coat the valve seals with clean engine oil. | | -
NOTE:Install new valve seals. Using the special tool, install the valve seal. | | -
Turn the engine, until the piston of the cylinder to be worked on is at top dead center (TDC). | | -
Remove the valve stem mouting sleeve. | | -
Install the valve springs. | | -
Using the special tools, install the valve collets. - Position a brass drift on the valve spring seat and gently strike it with a hammer.

Remove the special tools. | | -
Coat the valve tappets with clean engine oil. | | -
CAUTION:The valve tappets must be installed in their original locations. Install the valve tappets. | | -
