Two leg puller
  1. Remove the following items:
    1. Air cleaner.
      Refer to: Air Cleaner - 2.2L Duratorq-TDCi (Puma) Diesel (303-12 Intake Air Distribution and Filtering, Removal and Installation).
    1. Condenser core.
      Refer to: Condenser Core (412-03A Air Conditioning, Removal and Installation).
    1. Compressor to condenser discharge line.
      Refer to: Compressor to Condenser Discharge Line - 2.2L Duratorq-TDCi (Puma) Diesel (412-03A Air Conditioning, Removal and Installation).
    1. Suction acuumulator to compressor line.
      Refer to: Suction Accumulator to Compressor Line - 2.2L Duratorq-TDCi (Puma) Diesel (412-03A Air Conditioning, Removal and Installation).
    1. Radiator.
      Refer to: Radiator (303-03 Engine Cooling, Removal and Installation).
    1. Front bumper.
      Refer to: Front Bumper (501-19 Bumpers, Removal and Installation).
    1. Front wheels and tires.
      Refer to: Wheel and Tire (204-04 Wheels and Tires, Removal and Installation).
    1. Catalytic converter.
      Refer to: Catalytic Converter - 2.2L Duratorq-TDCi (Puma) Diesel (309-00 Exhaust System, Removal and Installation).

  1. General Equipment: Hose clamp remover/installer

  1. WARNING:
    WARNING:Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.

    CAUTION:
    CAUTION:If the fluid is spilled on the paintwork, the affected area must be immediately washed down with cold water.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.

  1. Loosen the tie-rod end nut.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Use suitable packing material to prevent damage to the component.
    General Equipment: Two leg puller

  1. Special Tool(s): 308-192

  1. Lower the vehicle.

  1. WARNING:
    WARNING:Make sure that the engine and transmission assembly is on wooden blocks and secured with suitable retaining straps.
    General Equipment: Mounting table set

  1. Install the special tool.
    Special Tool(s): 303-122
    General Equipment: Hydraulic jib crane
