Inspect wiring to the gearbox speed senderG38
Inspect wiring to the gearbox speed sender -G38-
   
–  Disconnect the 2-pin plug connection and check the wiring for interruption.

Switch on measuring range: Resistance measurement (200 Ω)
Gearbox speed sender -G38-Adapter cable -V.A.G 1598/18- bushesSpecificationMeasures for deviations from nominal value
19less than 1.5 Ω
–  Remove line interruption according to Current Flow Diagram → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.
–  Check plug for:
t  Contact corrosion
t  Water penetration
t  Leakage
210less than 1.5 Ω

  Note
If this test of the wiring does not show any unauthorised deviations, replace the gearbox speed sender -G38- → Chapter.
