Removing and Installing shift mechanism
Removing
–  Carefully lever off the cover from the centre console.
   
–  Turn cover inside out.
–  Carefully open clamp -arrow- and pull off gearshift knob together with the cover.

–  Unscrew the cover for the shift housing -arrows-.

–  Unscrew fixing nuts attaching the shift housing -arrows-.
–  Remove the engine cover.
–  Remove noise insulation below gearbox.

–  Remove cover from left wheel house -arrows-.
–  Remove front exhaust system with catalytic converter → Engine → Rep. Gr.26.

Remove the shift mechanism from the gearbox as follows:
–  Unscrew link rod -2- from the gearshift rod on the right of the gearbox.
–  Remove push rod -1-, by loosening the Allen screw.

–  Loosen nut -1- and detach gearbox shift lever -2- from the gearshift shaft.
–  Remove the front shield over the exhaust system.
–  Swivel the gearbox housing downwards with the shift rod and push rod, and remove.
Install
Installation is performed in the reverse order. Pay attention to the following points:
–  Install the front exhaust system with catalytic converter and align the exhaust system free of stress → Engine → Rep. Gr.26.

Tightening torques

Push rod - front to gearbox → Chapter
Link rod to gearbox → Chapter
Cover on push rod - rear → Chapter
