Oil Filter Housing (Heat Exchanger), Remove and
Install
 Remove
Remove inlet manifold upper section - see operation "Removing
and installing inlet manifold upper section (X 20 DTL, Y 20 DTL, Y
20 DTH up to MY 2003" and "Removing and installing inlet manifold
upper section (Y 20 DTH as of MY 2003, Y 22 DTR)".
Open coolant drain bolt – collect escaping coolant.
Remove lower engine compartment cover – see operation
"Lower Engine Compartment Cover, Remove and Install" in group
"A".

Detach fastening bolts (2) from coolant pipe (1) and lay coolant
pipe aside to front.
Detach fuel lines (3) from fuel injection pump and unclip from
brackets.
Detach coolant hoses (5) from oil filter casing.
Remove fastening bolts (4) and remove oil filter casing from
cylinder block – collect escaping engine oil.

 Clean
Clean sealing surfaces and remove gasket residues.

Install
Attach oil filter casing to cylinder block with new gasket (1)
– tightening torque 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft.
Attach coolant hoses to oil filter casing – note correct
seating. Attach fuel lines to injection pump with new seal rings
and clip into brackets. Attach coolant pipe to cylinder block.
Install inlet manifold upper section - see operation "Removing
and installing inlet manifold upper section (X 20 DTL, Y 20 DTL, Y
20 DTH up to MY 2003" and "Removing and installing inlet manifold
upper section (Y 20 DTH as of MY 2003, Y 22 DTR)".
Install lower engine compartment cover – see operation
"Lower Engine Compartment Cover, Remove and Install" in group
"A".

Inspect
Check engine oil level and correct if necessary.
Charge cooling system – see operations "Cooling System,
Charge and Bleed" and "Cooling System, Check for Leaks".
