Oxygen Sensor, X 18 XE1 and X 20 XEV

The oxygen sensor control is superimposed on the basic management of the carburetion system. It ensures that the system is matched ideally to the requirements of the catalytic converter.

Simtec 70 employs titan dioxide sensors (TiO 2 ).

Sensor heating is used to heat the sensor to operating temperature even at low exhaust temperatures. When the exhaust temperature increases, the heating is governed by the engine control unit.

The operating temperature of the oxygen sensor lies between 200 ° C and 900 ° C.

The signal voltage at lambda 0.9 = 3.85 V

The signal voltage at lambda 1.1 = 0.4 V

To protect the oxygen sensor lead against interference from voltage peaks, the lead in the wiring harness is shielded by a wire mesh coating.
