Replace Curtain Airbag (not deployed) - L08 from
MJ 2007
 Remove
| 1. |
Remove moulded headlining - L08 with panorama glass 
Lower moulded headlining - L08 without panorama glass
Note: With L08 without
panoramic window, to remove the curtain airbag all the seats are
folded down and the moulded headlining merely dropped. The removal
of the windscreen is then not required!

Remove curtain airbag
Note: The curtain
airbag cannot be removed without destroying it and must be
replaced.

Release and disconnect wiring harness plug

|
Install
| 3. |
Attach guide strip (1) to new curtain airbag
|
|
|
| 4. |
Install new curtain airbag
Note: Ensure that the
bent fastening clamps lie fully on the body!

Tighten 8x bolts 1.5 Nm
|
| • |
Connect and latch wiring harness plug
|
|
| 5. |
Attach curtain airbag in area of A-pillar (1)
|
| 6. |
Attach curtain airbag in area of C-pillar (2)
|
|
|
| 7. |
Install moulded headlining
Note: With L08 without
panorama glass, the removal and replacement of the windscreen is
not required.

Readiness indicator
Note: After ignition
ON, the airbag system readiness indicator illuminates for 4 seconds
and then goes out
