Field Remedy: 2407

Remedy:

In case of customer complaint first check the arrestors of
luggage compartment lid for correct adjustment. If the
adjustment is correct the bowden cable for lock luggage
compartment lid must be checked for damage.

Working prodecure:

Cause 1: Adjustment of luggage compartment lid incorrect

 1. Measure gap (1) between luggage compartment lid and body (picture I)

    - If the gap is out of the range of 6-9 mm the adjustment of
      the arrestors must be checked (see step 2.).
    - Is the gap in the range of 6-9 mm the bowden cable for lock
      luggage compartment lid must be checked for damage (see cause 2).

 2. Check adjustment of arrestors (picture II)

    - Arrestors (1) must be adjusted to a height (2) of 16 mm. If
      necessary correct adjustment.
    - Check gap between luggage compartment lid and body. Is the
      gap furthermore out of the range of 6-9 mm the rubber buffers
      of luggage compartment lid must be adjusted (see step 3.).

 3. Adjust rubber buffers (picture III)

    - Screw rubber buffers (1) in or out to decrease or increase
      the gap.
    - Afterwards close luggage compartment lid and check the gap,
      if necessary repeat adjustment.

Cause 2: Bowden cable for lock luggage compartment lid damaged

 1. Check bowden cable for damage (picture IV)

    - Remove lock luggage compartment lid:
      - see working procedure "Replace luggage compartment lid lock - L67",
        group "C", Service Instruction Astra-H. (Document number 01401085)

    - Check bowden cable (1) on buckling point (arrow) for damage.
      If damage is visible the bowden cable has to be replaced:
      - see working procedure "Replace luggage compartment lid 
        Bowden cable lock - L67",
        group "C", Service Instruction Astra-H. (Document number 01401083)
