Dismantling and assembling suspension strut (vehicles with four-wheel drive) > < Repairing rear drive shaft
Reworking cap nut in longitudinal member (vehicles with four-wheel drive)
Reworking cap nut in longitudinal member (vehicles with four-wheel drive)
If the threads of the cap nut in the longitudinal member are damaged, the thread must either be retapped or the cap nut must be drilled through.
–  Remove suspension link if necessary.
–  Drill upwards through damaged cap nut in longitudinal member with a 10.2 mm Ø drill.
  Note
When drilling do not cant drill.
  WARNING
Wear eye protection.

–  Cut new M12 x 1.5 thread in cap nut.
–  Use new bolt N 010 137 1 and washer N 11 531 7 to secure rear axle.
Torque setting: 65 Nm.
  Note
This repair solution may only be carried out on one cap nut per side!
