Towing points

The tow hook that comes with the vehicle is in the tool box located under the luggage compartment lining.

To fit the tow hook proceed as described below.

  • Take the tow hook out of the tool box.

1. Remove the cover which is a press fit on the front bumper by pressing with a finger on the lower part of the plug until the spring is released.

2. Fully tighten the seal in its housing.

Towing points

Take the tow hook out of the tool box.

1. Use a screwdriver protected with a soft cloth on the upper part of the rear bumper plug and press gently until the attachment spring comes out of its housing.

2. Fully tighten the seal in its housing.

Towing points

Make sure that the hook is fully tightened (it should turn about 8 times in the threaded seat). Thoroughly clean the threaded housing before tightening the tow hook.

Before starting to tow, turn the ignition key to the ON position, then to the OFF position without extracting it. When the key is extracted, the steering lock is immediately engaged and it is consequently impossible to steer the wheels.

Whilst towing, remember that the brake servo and the power assisted steering are not working, greater force will have to be exerted on the brake pedal and the steering wheel.

Do not use flexible cables for towing and avoid jerking. During towing operations, check that the tow cable coupling does not damage parts with which it comes into contact.

When towing the vehicle, the laws governing towing and road traffic must be obeyed.
