Removing and installing radio (MMI)
The radio -R- is located in the luggage compartment (left-side) beneath the luggage compartment floor.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Radio release tool -T10057-
  W00-1042
t  Protective cap for cable connector -VAS 6223/9-
–  When renewing control unit, select „Replacement“ function for appropriate control unit in „Guided Fault Finding“.
Use → Vehicle diagnostic tester to do so.
–  Switch off ignition and all electrical equipment and remove ignition key.
Removing
–  Take out luggage compartment floor.
–  Detach cover on control unit bracket.
First remove control unit bracket.
–  Remove the digital sound package control unit -J525- → Chapter. Electrical connectors remain attached.
–  Release and unplug all connectors at radio -R-.

–  Fit protective cap for cable connector -VAS 6223/9--1- onto MOST bus connector -2-.
  A97-0760
–  Unscrew nuts -2- at bracket -1-.
–  Swivel bracket -1- into luggage compartment until front side of radio -R- is accessible.
  A91-11606
–  Insert two radio release tools -T10057- into slots on radio -R--1- until they engage. Pointed ends of grips must face outwards.
–  Grasp hold of grips on radio release tools -T10057- and pull radio -R--1- out of bracket.
–  Press release tabs on radio -R- and remove radio release tools -T10057-.
Installing
–  Install in reverse sequence of removal.
Tightening torques → Chapter
