Coat bearing - arrow - and splines of steering pinion with G 052 192 A1.
Do no apply grease on or near sensor!
New steering pinion with steering torque sensor is equipped with a securing element - arrow -. It must not be pulled out before sensor wire was
secured.

Insert steering pinion into steering gear housing.

Turn steering pinion until spiral spring with sensor wire can be locked - arrow -.
Marking made on removal must align with marking on steering gear housing.

Pull securing element out of spiral spring.

Insert terminal into spiral spring housing.
Terminal is coded and fits only in one direction.

Tighten steering pinion using new hex nut.
Rack moves until stop.

Apply sealant LOCTITE 5910 on thread of locking bolt.

Install locking bolt, filled with grease G 052 192 A1 and tighten.

Turn steering to straight-ahead position again.
