Removing
Vehicles with TFSI engine (with timing chain), TDI engine or V6 engine:
–  Remove air cleaner housing completely → Rep. Gr.23 or → Rep. Gr.24.
   
Vehicles with TFSI engine or TDI engine:
  Caution
When disconnecting the battery there is a risk of serious damage to electronic components:
Observe the correct procedure for disconnecting the battery.
–  Remove battery → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.27.
–  Remove battery tray -arrows- (detach front of battery tray from air duct if applicable).

Continued for all vehicles:
–  Unplug electrical connector -4-, and unclip and detach clutch position sender -G476- from master cylinder -arrow-.
  Note
-Items 1, 2 and 3- can be disregarded.
Installing
Installation is carried out in reverse sequence; note the following:
–  Install battery tray and battery → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.27.
–  Install air cleaner housing → Rep. Gr.23 or → Rep. Gr.24.
