Important
The brake pedal travel must not be shortened by additional floor coverings.
  • Bracket
    • ◆ Removing and installing
  • Cheese head bolts, 5 Nm
    • ◆ Must engage in recess of pin (Item12).
    • ◆ Do not tighten bolt until circlips (Item 13) have been fitted.
  • Seal
  • Cheese head bolts, 20 Nm
  • Master cylinder
  • Torsion spring
    • ◆ Differs on 4- and 6-cylinder engines

  • Clutch pedal
    • ◆ Located in position by clutch master cylinder adjustment
    • ◆ Push on to pin, Item 12
  • Pin
    • ◆ Insert in clutch pedal and master cylinder
    • ◆ Lock pin in pedal -arrow-.
  • Brake pedal
    • ◆ Fit onto pin
  • Accelerator
    • ◆ Clip into pedal bracket

  • Accelerator cable
    • ◆ Detent ball of the accelerator cable should be locked in accelerator cable mount of accelerator pedal.
  • Pin
  • Circlip (2*)
    • ◆ Always replace
    • ◆ Fit onto pin
  • Cable pulley with linkage
    • ◆ TDI only
  • Hexagon nut, 8 Nm
    • ◆ Always replace
  • Washer
  • Combi bolt, 25 Nm
    • ◆ Tighten in vehicle after brake servo unit has been installed

  • Brake light switch

    • ◆ Adjusting at spring clip
  • Clip/spring clip
    • ◆ Always replace
    • ◆ Insert in mounting bracket
    • ◆ Press spring clip into pedal bracket from rear => Page 45-45
  • Stop buffer
    • ◆ Observe marking:
    • ◆ Manual gearbox position: HS inscription is visible and AG inscription points in direction of travel
    • ◆ Automatic gearbox position: AG inscription is visible and HS inscription points in direction of travel

  • Jointing pin
    • ◆ Fit pedal bracket onto jointing pin
  • Pedal position sensor
    • ◆ TDI only
  • Cheese-head bolt, 8 Nm
