3 Series E46 316i (M43TU) SAL
Insert camshaft and install bearing cover.
Note:
Bearing caps are numbered 2 ... 5.
The first bearing cap is not marked.
Tightening Torque,
refer to Technical Data 11 31 1AZ.
Remove the oil line for camshaft lubrication.
Tightening Torque,
refer to Technical Data 11 42 7AZ.
Locate camshaft with special tool 11 3 190 in firing TDC position
of first cylinder.
Caution!
Open-end wrench can slip off tensioning rail.
Slowly and carefully push back tensioning rail with open-end
wrench, fit chain wheel with chain.
Note:
Arrow on chain wheel in cylinder axis points up, elongated
holes in center.
