Replacing camshaft (M43 / M43TU)
(cylinder head removed)
Preliminary tasks are described in disassembly and
assembly of cylinder head,
refer to 11 12 503.
To rotate camshaft, insert two screws in camshaft flange.
Remove all finger-type rockers,
refer to 11 33 050.
Remove oil line to camshaft lubrication.
Installation:
Tightening Torque,
refer to Technical Data 11 42 7AZ.
Release bearing cap.
Remove camshaft.
Installation:
Bearing caps are numbered 2 ...5.
The first bearing cap is not marked.
Tightening Torque,
refer to Technical Data 11 31 1AZ.
