E39:

Unscrew bolts (1).

Tightening torque,

refer to Technical Data 12 90 4AZ

E39:

Check function of master relay (1) for DDE control unit then check
engine fuses (beside the master relay).

Relays for glow plugs (2).

E38:

Unfasten screws.

Tightening torque,

refer to Technical Data 12 90 4AZ

Check function of master relay (1) for DDE control unit, then check
engine fuses (beside the master relay).

Relay for glow plugs (2).

For additional instructions on troubleshooting, refer to Diagnosis of
DDE control unit, then connect DIS or MoDiC to the diagnosis
connector and proceed in accordance with the instructions
provided.
