Catera V6-3.0L VIN R (1997)

Tighten the power steering gear inlet and outlet hoses to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).
18. Use new O-rings when installing the A/C evaporator line extension quick connect.
19. Lubricate the new O-rings with mineral oil 525 viscosity.
20. Install the A/C evaporator line extension quick connect.
21. Install the vacuum booster with master cylinder
22. Install the vacuum booster nuts to the inward side of cowl.

Tighten the vacuum booster nuts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)
23. Reposition the fuse and the relay panels.
24. Tighten the screws until snug.
25. Install the I/P driver knee bolster energy absorber.
26. Perform the following steps to install the brake pedal to the brake power booster link rod:
a. Drive the pin into the linkage rod.
b. Install the retaining clip to the pin.
27. Position the lower steering coupler marks.
28. Connect the coupler, if installing the same gear. If the gear has been replace, place the front wheels in the straight ahead position and connect the
coupler.
29. Install the coupler bolts (1) to the coupler.

Tighten the coupler bolts to 22 Nm (16 ft. lbs.).
30. Install the sound insulator.
31. Install the sound insulator tabs.
32. Install the brake pipes to the master cylinder.
^
Tighten the brake pipes to the master cylinder to 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.).
33. Install the electrical connector to the master cylinder reservoir cap.
34. Install the brake booster vacuum connection to intake plenum.
35. Position the power steering fluid reservoir.
36. Install the power steering fluid reservoir clamp bolt.

Tighten the power steering fluid reservoir clamp bolt to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.).
37. Use new sealing O-rings when installing the A/C evaporator line extension to cowl.
38. Lubricate the new O-rings with mineral oil, 525 viscosity.
39. Install the A/C evaporator line extension to cowl.
