11. Install the lower steering gear bolts, nuts, and washers.

Tighten the upper and the lower steering gear bolts to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).

12. Install the lower heat shield nuts (1).

Tighten the lower heat shield nuts to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).

13. Perform the following steps to install the pitman arm:

a. Ensure the rubber steering gear shaft protector is in place prior to installing the pitman arm.
b. Align the pitman arm with the marks on the steering gear if the until has not been replace.
c. The pitman arm and the steering gear are blind splined to assist in proper installation.

14. Install the pitman arm wash and nut.

Tighten the pitman arm nut to 160 Nm (118 ft. lbs.).

15. Lower the vehicle.
16. Install the EBTCM/BPMV assembly.
17. Install the power steering gear inlet and outlet hoses to the steering gear.
