Rotate the crankshaft until the tools [0191-B] engage in the camshafts.

N.B. : The tools [0191-B] must screw into the camshaft main bearing cap casing.

Disconnect the connector (at "a").

Remove :

  • The top timing cover (4)
  • The dipstick (3)
  • The upper timing chain
  • The injectors (5) for diesel engines
  • The exhaust gas recycling valve and heat exchanger (6) assembly

Move aside the engine harness (7).

Remove :

  • The 20 bolts (8)
  • The 7 bolts (9)
  • The camshaft carrier and camshaft (10) assembly
  • The camshaft carrier seal
