DESCRIPTION

The front seats have been designed with an enveloping profile to optimise comfort and safety, ensuring ideal enclosure and safe driving even on winding and rough routes.

Furthermore the front seats have the bottom of the cushion with an anti-slip profile ( Antisubmarining effect).

ADJUSTMENT

The shape of the seat and the wide range of adjustment possibilities enable the ideal driving position concerning both the height and driving style of the driver.

The adjustment possibilities are:

  • longitudinal adjustment; on sliding guides that offer a wide range and have an inclination of 3° so that the seat rises as it moves forward.
  • squab position adjustment by means of a rotary knob that allows micrometric rotation.

SAFETY BELTS

to contribute to the safety of the car front seat occupants the safety belt has three anchoring positions and a pretensioner.

HEAD REST

The front and rear seat head rests can be adjusted in height to obtain a stable and ideal position in the various intermediate positions. It is also possible to remove them to adapt the shape of the seats to the different requirements.

GLOSSARY

Pretensioners

Device applied to the front safety belts replacing the usual reels.

In the case of serious front crashes, the device activates a small load thus winding the belt by a few centimetres and recovering the clearance between the belt and the body of the seat occupant. This function ensures the best retaining condition in the case of a crash. Once activated the pretensioner remains locked in position and therefore needs replacing.

Passive safety

The precautions that interact to reduce the consequences of an accident on the car occupants and can be summed up as:

  • layered windscreen
  • collapsible steering column
  • steering wheel trim material
  • dashboard profile without protrusions or hazardous sharp edges, built in shock absorbent material
  • pedal unit structure
  • shape and resistance of seats
  • headrest
  • safety belt (including pretensioners, installed with the airbag system)
  • Airbag, where installed, according to the versions, only driver's side or driver's and passenger sides
  • body with differential resistance, i.e. the passenger compartment as stiff as possible and the front and rear parts gradually deformable to absorb the energy of the crash.

Submarining

Phenomenon that takes place in a front crash when the body of the seat occupant, although having the seat belt correctly latched, tends to slide under the belt.
