FRONT DOOR CLOSING DEFECTIVE

Stiffness/noise detected during front door closure

STEPOPERATIONS TO BE CARRIED OUTTEST RESULTS
1CHECK DOOR CLOSUREALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
With the handle in open position, simulate various closure/opening manoeuvres and check for noise and/or stiffness from the door detent link area. Check that the link is properly secured and lubricated.Move on to Step1. Link incorrectly secured1. Renew the correct fastening
2. No lubricant2. Lubricate with the specified grease
2CHECK WITH DOOR OPENALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Close door catch manually. Check catch fastening and for the presence of lubricationMove on to Step1. Catch incorrectly secured1. Renew the correct fastening

With the handle in open position, simulate various closure/opening manoeuvres and check for interference with the strikerMove on to StepThe striker is incorrectly adjustedAdjust the striker
4CHECK DOOR ALIGNMENT/SQUARENESSALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
With the door against the vehicle body and the striker removed, check the door is correctly aligned. In particular, check the door openings and alignments with the front wing and sliding side doorSquareness is incorrect and the openings and alignments are not continuous.Adjust the door hinges to restore door squareness and restore the correct openings and alignments. Refit the striker and adjust.
