SIDE DOOR DIFFICULT TO CLOSE

Sliding side door found to be stiff to close and noisy when vehicle is in motion.

STEPOPERATIONS TO BE CARRIED OUTTEST RESULTS
1CHECK ON CORRECT OPERATIONALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Wtih the door handle in open position, carry out various side door close/open manoeuvres and check for interference with the strikerMove on to StepThe striker is incorrectly adjustedAdjust the striker
2CHECK WITH DOOR OPENALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Close/open the catch by hand. Check operation and ensure lubrication is presentMove on to Step1. The catch is not secured and difficult to open/close1. Secure the catch
2. No lubricant present2. Lubricate with the specified grease
3CHECK DOOR ALIGNMENTALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Check door close without the striker by positioning the door against the vehicle body and checking the door is square against the door compartmentMove on to StepThe sliding door is slightly out of squarenessAdjust and/or resquare the sliding door
4CHECK WITH DOOR CLOSEDALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Check that the alignment of the sliding door with the front door and rear wing is linear without protrusionsMove on to StepThe upper front of the sliding door protrudes and the weather strip rubs excessively against the front doorAdjust the upper locating device, lubricate the weather strip with the specified grease. Add washers to the upper carriage if necessary
5CHECK ON CORRECT OPERATIONALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Check that the fault is no longer present
