To properly diagnose a concern have the following publications available:

  • OASIS massages
  • Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs)
  • Wiring Diagram

Preliminary Inspections and Diagnosis:

Proceed according to the following diagnosis flow chart.

  • Know and understand the customer's concern.
  • Verify the concern by operating the vehicle.
  • Check fluid level and condition.
  • Check the adjustment of the TR sensor.
  • Check whether any additional accessories have been installed after the vehicle was sold (and whether they have been installed correctly), for instance air conditioning, car telephone, cruise control system, trip computer, additional stop lamp.
  • Check shift linkages for proper adjustment.
  • Check TSBs and OASIS messages for the concern.
  • Interrogate the trouble codes both in a test with the engine running (KOER) and in an engine-OFF test (KOEO). Note the displayed trouble codes.

Test Result Remedial action
1) Were any current trouble codes recorded? Yes Rectify the cause(s) for the trouble code(s) (follow the menu in WDS or FDS2000).
No Proceed to the Symptom Chart. Then continue with step 5.
2) Were any stored trouble codes displayed? Yes Delete the trouble codes and road test the vehicle.
No Continue with step 4.
3) Are any stored trouble codes displayed? Yes Rectify the cause(s) for the trouble code(s) (follow the menu in WDS or FDS2000), then continue with step 4.
No Continue with step 4.
4) Is the fault rectified? Yes Repeat the test with the engine running and the engine-OFF test and verify that no trouble codes are displayed. Delete any stored trouble codes. Deliver the vehicle.
No Proceed with the symptom chart.
5) Is the fault is temporarily rectified while FDS2000 or WDS is connected up? Yes Switch the diagnostic unit to the ""Data Logger" function and locate any intermittent faults.
No Continue with step 6.
6) Is the fault rectified? Yes Repeat the test with the engine running and the engine-OFF test and verify that no trouble codes are displayed. Delete any stored trouble codes. Deliver the vehicle.
No Inform the Hotline.
