Open the driver door.
-
With the NGS tester, read PID LFDRLCM.
Does PID indicate drivers door open?
YES
REPLACE lighting control module.
NO
GO to AB13.
AB13 - Check Driver Door Ajar Circuit
-
Disconnect battery ground cable.
-
Using an ohmmeter, check circuit 867 (DB) between Pin C2-11 of lighting control module and LH front door interior lamp switch connector.
Is Circuit OK?
YES
REPLACE LH front interior lamp switch. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
NO
SERVICE open in circuit 867 (DB). RETEST system.
AB14 - Check Passenger Door Ajar Circuits

Open all the passenger doors one at a time.
-
With the NGS tester, read PID P_DR_LC after each door is opened.
Does PID indicate passenger doors open?
YES
REPLACE lighting control module.
NO
GO to AB15.
AB15 - Check Passenger Door Ajar Circuits
-
Disconnect battery ground cable.
-
Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity in circuit 627 (BK/O) between lighting control module connector pin C1-11 and passenger door interior
lamp switch connectors.
Is there continuity?
YES
REPLACE inoperative interior lamp switch. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
NO
SERVICE open in circuit 627 (BK/O) between lighting control module and interior.
AB16 - Check Courtesy Lamps Power

Disconnect connector C3 from lighting control module.
-
Test for voltage at pin C3-11 circuit 54 (LG/Y).
Is voltage reading B+?
YES
GO to AB17.
NO
SERVICE open in circuit 54 (LG/Y). RETEST system.
AB17 - Check Circuit 53 (BK/LB) For Short

Disconnect lighting control module connectors.
-
Using jumper wire, short pin C3-11 circuit 56 (LG/Y) to pin C3-5 circuit 53 (BK/LB).
Does fuse 4 (10A) for Town car or fuse 8 (15A) for Crown Victoria/Grand Marquis open?
YES
SERVICE short to ground in circuit 53 (BK/LB). RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
NO
GO to AB18.
AB18 Check Courtesy Lamps Output

Using a jumper wire, short pins C3-11 to C3-5 of lighting control module.
