Fuel Charging and Controls - 1.25L/1.4L Zetec-SE (Sigma)/1.6L - Fuel Injection Supply Manifold Fiesta 1996 (08/1995-02/2002)
Removal and Installation

Removal

WARNING:
WARNING:Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel related components. Highly flammable vapors are always present and can ignite. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
  1. Release the fuel system pressure. For additional information, refer to Section  310-00 Fuel System - General Information.

  1. Open the fuel injection wiring harness center cover.

  1. Disconnect the engine ventilation hose from the cam cover.

  1. Disconnect the camshaft position sensor electrical connector.

  1. Remove the fuel injection wiring harness.
    1. Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors.
    1. Remove the fuel injection wiring harness.

  1. Disconnect the vacuum line from the fuel pressure regulator.

  1. Disconnect the fuel return line from the fuel injection supply manifold. For additional information, refer to Section  310-00 Fuel System - General Information.

  1. Disconnect the fuel supply line from the fuel injection supply manifold. For additional information, refer to Section  310-00 Fuel System - General Information.

  1. Remove the fuel injection supply manifold.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Discard the fuel injector O-ring seals.
    Remove the fuel injectors from the fuel injection supply manifold.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Discard the fuel pressure regulator O-ring seals.
    Remove the fuel pressure regulator from the fuel injection supply manifold.

Installation

WARNING:

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Using a suitable engine oil, lubricate the O-ring seals before installing.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Install new fuel pressure regulator O-ring seals.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Install new fuel injector O-ring seals.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
