Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  1. Remove the tailgate trim panel. For additional information, refer to Section  501-05A Interior Trim and Ornamentation / 501-05B Interior Trim and Ornamentation.

  1. Disconnect the lock motor actuating rod.

  1. Remove the two lock retaining torx screws.

  1. Disconnect the tailgate ajar switch.
    • Ease the lock out for access, push the switch in and tilt up to remove.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
