Removal and Installation

Special Tool(s)

Locking Tool - Crankshaft

303-734 (21-262)

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
    For additional information, refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).

  1. Detach the coolant expansion tank.
    1. Remove the coolant expansion tank retaining bolt.
    1. Detach the coolant expansion tank and secure it to one side.
  1. Remove the accessory drive belt.

4. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration(s) and table(s).

5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Removal Details

Item 2 : Crankshaft pulley retaining bolt

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Only turn the engine in the normal direction of rotation.
    Rotate the engine until the special tool fits into the hole in the flywheel.
  1. Remove and discard the crankshaft pulley retaining bolt.

Installation Details

Item 2 : Crankshaft pulley retaining bolt

  1. Install a new crankshaft pulley bolt.
    • Tighten the crankshaft pulley bolt in two stages.
    • Stage 1 : Tighten the bolt - 30 Nm.
    • Stage 2 : Tighten the bolt - 180 degrees.
  1. Remove the special tool.
