NOTE:Stop the piston rod from turning using an Allen key. Undo the suspension strut nut five turns (right-hand side shown). | | -
Take off the lower suspension arm ball joint (right-hand side shown). | | -
CAUTION:Support the halfshaft. The inner joint must not be bent more than 18 degrees. The outer joint must not be bent at more than 45 degrees. Detach the halfshaft from the transmission using the special tool and secure it to one side. - Collect the oil in a suitable container.

Remove the left-hand front halfshaft oil seal. | Installation | -
Install the left-hand front halfshaft oil seal. | | -
CAUTION:Support the halfshaft. The inner joint must not be bent more than 18 degrees. The outer joint must not be bent at more than 45 degrees. CAUTION:Use the installation sleeve (supplied with every new oil seal) to protect the oil seal when inserting the front halfshaft. CAUTION:Make sure that the snap ring is correctly installed. NOTE:Install a new snap ring. Install the halfshaft on the transmission. | | -
Attach the lower suspension link ball joint (right-hand side shown). | | -
Top up with transmission fluid until the fluid level is 5 to 10 mm below the lower edge of the check hole. | | -
NOTE:Stop the piston rod from turning using an Allen key. Tighten the suspension strut nut (right-hand side shown). - Stop it from turning using an Allen key.
- Tighten using a ring spanner until finger tight.
- Tighten to specified torque using a torque wrench.
