Mount the transmission on an assembly stand. | | | -
Remove the input shaft bearing retainer bolts. - Drain the transmission fluid.
- Allow the transmission fluid to drain into a suitable container.
- Discard the input shaft bearing retainer bolts.
| Item 2 : Selector mechanism | | -
NOTE:Shift the selector mechanism into neutral. Remove the selector mechanism. | Item 3 : Differential clutch-side oil seal | | -
Remove the differential clutch-side oil seal using the special tool. - Discard the the differential clutch-side oil seal.
| Item 4 : Clutch slave cylinder | | -
NOTE:Check the clutch slave cylinder for brake fluid leaks or damage. Install a new clutch slave cylinder if necessary. Remove the clutch slave cylinder. | Item 6 : Gearshift cable abutment bracket | | -
Remove the gearshift cable abutment from the transmission. | Item 7 : Differential housing transmission-side oil seal | | -
Remove the differential transmission-side oil seal using the special tool. - Discard the the differential transmission-side oil seal.

Remove the differential assembly. | Item 16 : Input shaft | | -
Remove the selector shaft - 5th/6th/reverse gear. | | | -
Tie the 1st - 4th gear output shaft, 5th/6th/reverse gear output shaft, input shaft, shift forks and 1st - 4th gear selector shaft together using a cable tie (shown removed for clarity). | | | -
Lift out the 1st - 4th gear output shaft, 5th/6th/reverse gear output shaft, input shaft, shift forks and 1st/4th gear selector shaft at the same time. | Item 19 : Parallel roller bearing - input shaft | | -
Remove the input shaft parallel roller bearing and the input shaft radial oil seal using the special tool. - Discard the input shaft radial oil seal.
| Item 20 : 1st - 4th gear output shaft clutch-side bearing outer race | | -
Remove the 1st - 4th gear output shaft clutch-side bearing outer race using the special tool and a suitable socket. - Remove the adjustment shim.
- Discard the 1st - 4th gear output shaft oil thrower.
| Item 23 : 5th/6th/reverse gear output shaft clutch-side bearing outer race | | -
Remove the 5th/6th/reverse gear output shaft clutch-side bearing outer race using the special tool and a suitable socket. - Remove the adjustment shim.
- Discard the oil thrower - output shaft - 5th/6th/reverse gear.
| Item 26 : Differential clutch-side bearing outer race | | -
Remove the differential clutch-side bearing outer race using the special tool. - Remove the adjustment shim.
| Item 28 : Differential transmission-side bearing outer race | | -
Remove the differential transmission-side bearing outer race using the special tool. | Item 29 : 1st - 4th gear output shaft transmission-side bearing outer race | | -
Remove the 1st - 4th gear output shaft transmission-side bearing outer race using the special tool. | Item 30 : 5th/6th/reverse gear output shaft transmission-side bearing outer race | | -
Remove the 5th/6th/reverse gear output shaft transmission-side bearing outer race using the special tool. | |
