Remover, Transmission Fluid Cooler

1. 

   WARNING:Whenever releasing the transaxle cooling system fluid, take care to prevent fluid scalding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
   

   NOTE:Plug the fluid cooler tubes to prevent fluid loss and dirt ingress.
   Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

2. 

   NOTE:Mark the positions of the feed and return hose.
   

   NOTE:Collect escaping fluid in a drain pan.
   Disconnect the feed and return hose from the transmission fluid cooler.

3. Using the special tool, disconnect the fluid cooler pipes.
   1. Insert the special tool into the quick release coupling.
   2. Slide the special tool along the pipe to release the locking tangs.
   • Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.

4. 

   CAUTION:Prevent the fluid pipe adapter from turning using an open-ended wrench, do not remove it from the transaxle housing.
   Detach the fluid cooler pipe from the transaxle.
   • Close off the openings using suitable plugs.

5. 

   CAUTION:Prevent the fluid pipe adapter from turning using an open-ended wrench, do not remove it from the transaxle housing.
   Detach the fluid cooler pipe from the transaxle.
   • Detach the fluid pipe bracket from the transaxle.
   • Close off the openings using suitable plugs.

   CAUTION:Prevent the fluid pipe adapter from turning using an open-ended wrench, do not remove it from the transaxle housing.
   Attach the fluid cooler pipe to the transaxle.
   • Attach the fluid pipe bracket to the transaxle.

2. 

   CAUTION:Prevent the fluid pipe adapter from turning using an open-ended wrench, do not remove it from the transaxle housing.
   Attach the fluid cooler pipe to the transaxle.

3. 

   NOTE:Position marks.
   Connect the feed and return hose to the transaxle.
   1. Connect the feed tube.
   2. Connect the return tube.

4. Connect the fluid cooler pipes.

5. Lower the vehicle.
