Disconnect the negative battery cable. For additional information, refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, General Procedures). | | | -
Drain the engine oil. For additional information, refer to: Engine Oil Draining and Filling (303-01 Engine - 2.5L Duratorq-TDCi (WL) Diesel/3.0L Duratorq-TDCi (WL) Diesel, General Procedures). | | | -
Remove the front stabilizer. For additional information, refer to: Front Stabilizer Bar - 4x4 (204-01 Front Suspension, Removal and Installation) / Front Stabilizer Bar - 4x2 (204-01 Front Suspension, Removal and Installation). | | | -
Disconnect the center link on the left side of the vehicle. | 6. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration(s) and table(s). 7. To install, reverse the removal procedure. | | -
Fill with the specified amount and type of engine oil. For additional information, refer to: Engine Oil Draining and Filling (303-01 Engine - 2.5L Duratorq-TDCi (WL) Diesel/3.0L Duratorq-TDCi (WL) Diesel, General Procedures). | | | -
Start the engine and inspect for engine oil leakage. | Removal Details Item 2 : Rear crossmember (4x4) | | -
Set the transmission jack on the front differential. | | | -
Remove the bolts and nuts indicated in the figure. | Item 3 : Oil pan | | -
Remove the oil pan mounting bolts. | | | -
CAUTION:Pry tools can easily scratch the cylinder block and oil pan contact surfaces. Prying off the oil pan can also easily bend the oil pan flange. Use a separate tool to separate the oil pan. | Installation Details Item 3 : Oil pan | | -
CAUTION:If the bolts are reused, remove the old sealant from the bolt threads. Tightening a bolt that has old sealant on it can cause bolt hole damage. | | | -
Apply silicone sealant to the oil pan along the inside of the bolt holes and overlap the ends. - Thickness ø 2.0—3.0 mm {0.08—0.11 in}.

Tighten the oil pan bolts A as indicated in the figure. | | -
Tighten the remaining oil pan bolts in several passes. | |
