  1.  
    1. Mount the transaxle on the mounting stand.
      Special Tool(s): 303-435, 303-435-04, 303-435-12A
    1. NOTE:
      NOTE:Use suitable paper to absorb any escaping fluid.
      Discard the input shaft bearing retainer bolts.
    1. Shift the gearshift mechanism to neutral position.
    1. Remove the gearshift linkage.

  1. Remove the following items:
    1. Remove the clutch slave cylinder. Check the clutch slave cylinder for damage or leaks.
    1. Transmission housing retaining bolts
    1. Discard the input shaft seal.
      Special Tool(s): 308-208

  1. Discard the input shaft seal.
    Special Tool(s): 308-208

  1. Ensure that the guide pins remain installed.

  1. Special Tool(s): 205-078, 205-078-01

  1. Special Tool(s): 205-078, 205-078-01

  1. Remove the differential bearing outer race.
    Special Tool(s): 205-176

  1. Remove the following items:
    1. Differential bearing outer race
      Special Tool(s): 205-176
    1. Differential adjusting shim

  1. Remove the following items:
    • Parallel roller bearing - input shaft
      Special Tool(s): 205-080
    • Discard the input shaft radial oil seal.
Vehicles built from 11/2005
  1. Cut off the oil thrower.
All vehicles
  1.  
    1. Use a suitable socket wrench.
    1. Remove the output shaft bearing outer race.
      Special Tool(s): 205-078, 205-078-01
    1. Remove the shim.
    1. Discard the output shaft oil thrower.

  1.  
    1. Use a suitable socket wrench.
    1. Remove the output shaft bearing outer race.
      Special Tool(s): 205-078, 205-078-01
    1. Remove the shim.
    1. Discard the output shaft oil thrower.
