General Equipment
Transmission jack
  1. Refer to: Health and Safety Precautions (100-00 General Information, Description and Operation).

  1. Remove the following items:
    1. Air filter
      Refer to: Luftfilter (303-12 Ansaugsystem - 2.0L Duratorq-TDCi (DW) Diesel, Removal and Installation).
    1. Battery
      Refer to: Batterie (414-01 Batterie, Befestigung und Batteriekabel, Removal and Installation).

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:The gearshift cables must not be kinked or twisted.

  1.  
    • Detach the starter motor from the transmission and position it to one side.

  1. Remove the sub-frame.
    Refer to: Front Subframe (502-00 Uni-Body, Subframe and Mounting System, Removal and Installation).

  1. Remove the following items:
    1. Driveshafts
      Refer to: Front Halfshaft LH (205-04 Front Drive Halfshafts, Removal and Installation).
      Refer to: Front Halfshaft RH (205-04 Front Drive Halfshafts, Removal and Installation).
    1. Catalyst
      Refer to: Katalysator (309-00 Auspuffsystem - Allgemeine Informationen - 2.0L Duratorq-TDCi (DW) Diesel, Removal and Installation).

  1. Install the Special Tool(s): 303-290B, 303-290-13, 303-290B-15, 303-290B-16

  1. Support the transmission using the transmission jack and remove.
    General Equipment: Transmission jack
