3. Using the Special Service Tool (SST) J 7728,install the new drive shaft seal (11), lubricating it with power steering fluid.
4. Next, assemble the pump assembly starting by installing the new drive shaft seal (11) into the pump housing (10) with the J 7728 tool.
5. Insert the pump ring dowel pins (6) into pump housing (10).
6. Attach the thrust plate (25) and the pump rotor (28) to the drive shaft (7).
7. Attach the new shaft retaining ring (30) onto drive shaft then install the drive shaft sub-assembly into pump housing (10).
8. Put the vanes into the pump rotor.
9. Place the pump ring (26), with holes positioned correctly, onto dowel pins (6), in pump housing (10).
10. Lubricate the new O-ring (32) with power steering fluid then install it into the groove in the pump housing (10).
11. Attach the pressure plate spring on the pressure plate.
12. Lubricate the new O-ring (35) with power steering fluid and install it into the end cover (36).
13. Press the end cover (36) into the pump housing (10).
