Hombre XS Space Cab L4-2.2L CPC (1997)
1. Remove the steering gear from vehicle.
2. After removing the gear, rotate stub shaft back and forth to drain fluid, then remove the following components using the procedures listed below.
a. Remove the retaining ring (1) by using a punch inserted into the housing access hole to unseat it.
b. Remove the plug (2).
c. Remove the O-ring seal (3).
3. Lubricate O-ring seal with power steering fluid and assemble the end plug by doing the following procedures.

Install the O-ring seal (3) into housing (20).

Install the plug.

Install the Retaining Ring (1) so that open end is approximately 25 mm (1 inch) from access hole in housing (20).
4. Install the steering gear.
