4. Push the lower control arm out of the opening in the splash shield by using a putty knife or similar tool to guide the control arm past the splash
shield.
NOTE: Block the knuckle assembly out of the way by placing a wooden block between the frame and upper control arm.
5. Remove the grease fittings.
6. Detach the lower ball joint from the lower control arm by doing the following.

Using the tools as shown in.

Replace parts as necessary.
6. Inspect the tapered hole in the steering knuckle and remove any dirt. If the hole is out of round, deformed or damaged, the knuckle must be
replaced.
