(VIN prior to W4372115 ONLY): Using a pair of aviation (tin) snips, carefully cut the console bracket as shown. (Figures 5, 6, and 7)
NOTE:
The thin bracket may warp and bend slightly during cutting. However, the bracket may be bent back using conventional pliers after cutting. At this
time, smooth any sharp or rough edges with a file to prevent injury.

(VIN prior to W4372115 ONLY):
Test-fit the new replacement rear cup holder/console cover to the modified console bracket, with the cup holder lid in the closed position.
