1999-2002 Rodeo (UE) equipped with rear beverage holder.
Service Information
Condition:
On affected vehicles, owners may complain that the rear beverage holder swing arm will not stay in an open or closed position because the detents do not
hold.
Possible Cause:
One or both of the metal detent clips are out of place or missing.
Correction:
Check for proper installation of both detent clips, if missing, replace detent clip (Part Number: 8-97212-275-0).
Service Procedure
1.
With parking brake applied remove the rear console assembly.
2.
Remove the two screws inside the console (Figure 1).
3.
Pull up the console sides and detach the retaining clips (Figure 2 shown above)
4.
Disconnect the power Mode/Winter Mode switch (A/T models only).
