Clutch Slave Cylinder: Service and Repair
Hydraulic System Bleeding

CLUTCH BLEED PROCEDURE - BENCH 

CAUTION:  Brake fluid is harmful to painted or plastic surfaces. If the brake fluid is spilled onto a painted or plastic surface, wash it immediately
with water.

1. Position the clutch master cylinder with the reservoir above the clutch master cylinder and the quick connect fitting below the clutch master

cylinder.

2. Depress the internal mechanism of the male quick connect coupler to open the valve.
3. Stroke and hold the master cylinder push rod.

1) Release the male quick connect coupler valve.
2) Release the master cylinder push rod.

4. Fill the clutch master cylinder reservoir.

1) Repeat steps 2 and 3 four times.

BLEED PROCEDURE-ON-VEHICLE 

1. Using Special Service Tool (SST) T88T-70522-A or equivalent, disconnect the quick connect coupler.
2. Depress the internal mechanism of the male quick connect coupling.

1) Slowly depress the clutch pedal to the floor and hold.

3. Release the internal mechanism of the male quick release coupler.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 four times.
5. Connect the quick connect coupler.
6. Close the clutch master cylinder reservoir.

1) Stroke the clutch pedal as fast as possible for five to ten strokes.

7. Wait one to three minutes.

1) Repeat step 6 three times.

8. Loosen the clutch slave cylinder bleeder screw.

1) Slowly depress and hold the clutch pedal.

9. Tighten the clutch slave cylinder bleeder screw. Release the clutch pedal.
