Hydraulic Hose: Service and Repair

CLUTCH PIPE REMOVAL/ INSTALLATION 

NOTE:  If any clutch pipe has been disconnected any time during the procedure, add brake fluid, bleed the air, and inspect for leakage after the
procedure has been completed.

1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Disconnect the line from the plastic clip at the floor flange.

3. Uncouple the lower end of the line from the clutch slave cylinder using the Special Service Tool (SST).
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Remove the clutch master cylinder and line assembly.

6. Remove and discard the roll pin holding the line to the clutch master cylinder.

NOTE:  Check that the O-ring is still in the outlet port of the clutch master cylinder. If not, replace.

7. Disconnect the line from the clutch master cylinder by applying a slight tug on the line.
8. Insert the new line into the clutch master cylinder outlet port.

9. Install clutch master cylinder tube.

1) Position line and install roll pin.
2) Tug on clutch master cylinder tube.

10. Raise and support the vehicle.
11. Bleed the system.

NOTE:  Check that the 0-ring is in place on the line. Check the clutch slave cylinder port to be sure there is no 0-ring.

12. Insert the male coupling end into the female coupling of the clutch slave cylinder.

Check that the connection is secure by applying a slight tug to the line.

13. Connect the line to the plastic clip on the floor flange.
14. Lower the vehicle.
