On the completion of a fast adaption, the lifetime adaption strategy will commence, fine tuning the response of the control system for the transmission attached to a particular vehicle. If either the MEMS 3 or transmission is changed during the service life of the vehicle, the fast adaption strategies must be reset, which in turn will reset the lifetime strategy so it starts learning from the new base point.
Transmission diagnostics
The ECM interfaces with the GIU and all its diagnostics are channelled through the ECM. The ECM also will display any data or information that it controls directly.
