Rear Wiper and Washer: When the shift lever is moved to reverse "R" position during the rear wiper operation, the rear wiper does not
operate at the continuous mode.
NOTE: This troubleshooting procedure requires the use of scan tool MB991502 or MB991958 and SWS monitor kit MB991813. For details on how to
use the SWS monitor, refer to "How to use SWS monitor."
"R" Position During Rear Wiper Operation Circuit
CIRCUIT OPERATION
The ETACS-ECU operates the rear wiper consecutively approximately twice when the shift lever is moved to reverse "R" position while the rear wiper is
turned on.
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION (COMMENT)
If the rear wiper does not work consecutively approximately twice, the backup light switch or the ETACS-ECU may be defective.

The wiring harness or connectors may have loose, corroded, or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector
