Remove dashboard mounting bolts (18) and (19)

-

Remove bolt (20) behind heater-A/C control panel

-

Remove strut (21) secured at (22) to the lower part of the dash and at (23) to the gear shift support

-

Clear away the speedometer cable, instrument cluster harness, and heater-A/C control panel

-

Protect the console with a fender cover

-

Remove the dashboard

-

Position the dashboard on a bench so that the back side is facing toward you and angled up

-

Remove the glove box light

-

Remove the glove box mounting screws, located as follows:

-

one phillips-head screw inside the glove box

-

two phillips-head screws on the left side (driver side) of the glove box (do not lose the metal bracket between the glove box and
dashboard)

-

two phillips-head screws along the top edge (one is immediately above the striker, the other at the top right corner)

-

Remove the single 10 mm bolt from the lower right (passenger side) corner of the tubular glove box support frame

-

The glove box and support frame can now be removed from the dash as a unit by sliding it down and to the rear

-

Reinstall components in the reverse order of disassembly

-

Ensure that non-return washers (24) are in position on locating dowels before refitting dashboard to firewall

-

Torque steering wheel nut to 22 ft.lbs.

WARRANTY INFORMATION:

This repair will be accepted when perfomed within the New Vehicle Limited Warranty period of three (3) years and/or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs
first.
