Suspension Strut / Shock Absorber: Service and Repair
Shock Absorber

1.

Raise vehicle using drive-on lift.

2.

Remove shock absorber retaining nuts, washers and shock absorbers.

3.

Adjust dummy shock absorber tool No. 0908-V or equivalent, to 12.9 inches. Compress the suspension, using tool No. 0911-AY and C or
equivalents, until dummy shock absorber mounts freely into mounting bolts.

4.

Remove dummy shock and install new shock absorber, washers and nuts.

5.

Tighten new Nylstop nuts to specifications, then remove suspension compressor.
