5. Remove the -auxiliary pin- from the actuating mechanism of the foot-operated parking brake.
6. Perform a function test. Set the brake shoes to the basic setting, if necessary.

Tolerances in the cables (different length right to left) can cause the balancing clip to to be out of line when the foot-operated parking brake is
actuated. Press gently on the foot-operated parking brake pedal unto the cables are tensioned. Only then should you tighten the small screw
(Torx T15) on the balancing clip by hand.

Perform a function test.

7. Install the centre console.
8. Install cover in the footwell.
9. Fit the screw plug on the brake disc.

10. To fit the brake cable correctly into the guides on the underbody and on the rear axle carrier, the brake cable must be tightened. To do this, pull

quickly on the brake cable, against the direction of travel, in the cable sleeve area (thickening) on the rear axle carrier. This gives clearance
between the brake cable and the cardan shaft.

11. Fit the wheel.

Disengaging brake cable (partial removal) 
Removal 
1. Move the actuating pedal of the foot-operated parking brake into zero position. To do this, pull the release lever on the dashboard.
2. Remove the cover in the footwell.

3. Fix the adjustment fixture using an -auxiliary pin (maximum 3.5 mm)-. In other words: Press the adjustment fixture together as far as possible

until the assembly bores are covered and the auxiliary pin can be inserted.

4. Lift the vehicle. 
5. Remove the relevant rear wheel. 
6. Remove the brake cable from the guide of the rear axle housing and loosen it by moving it to and fro.
