Fog Lamps
Front Fog Lamps
With the ignition switch in position ’II’, current is supplied to the MFU from fuse 15 of the passenger compartment fuse box on a G/Y wire.
When the lighting switch is switched to the main beam position, a feed from fusible link B flows to the MFU on a R wire. If the front fog lamp switch is now switched on, current can flow from fuse 19 to the front fog lamp relay on a Y wire. This feed energises the relay, which is earthed on a B wire.
A feed from fuse 11 can now flow across the energised fog lamp relay and power the front fog lamps on U/R wires. Both lamps are earthed on B wires.
Rear Fog Lamps
For the rear fog lamps to operate, the ignition switch must be in position ’II’, with the headlamps switched on. The rear fog lamp circuit is provided a feed from fuse 20 of the passenger compartment fuse box. This supplies current to the MFU on a R/W wire.
The MFU is connected to the rear fog switch by a R/U wire. When the momentary rear fog switch is pressed, an earth path is temporarily created on the B wire. Sensing this earth, the MFU provides a feed to both rear fog lamps on R/Y wires. Both lamps are earthed on B wires.
NOTE: If the rear fog lamps are in operation, switching OFF the headlamps will turn the rear fog lamps OFF; but they will be switched on again when the headlamps are switched back ON.
NOTE: If the rear fog lamps have been in operation, switching OFF both head and sidelights, or the ignition, will prevent operation of the fog lamps until both headlights and ignition are switched back ON and the rear fog lamps switch is pressed.
