Hazard

A feed to the hazard warning light on a W/B wire from fuse N, is earthed by the hazard warning switch on a G/B wire.

Check engine warning lamp - MIL (D series cars only)

This is powered from the engine management control unit on an G/O wire and earthed via a B wire. It is lit for two seconds when the ignition is switched ON (check function) and when there is an ECM malfunction.

NOTE: Not all the above warning lamps will necessarily be fitted to the vehicle.

Panel illumination

To ensure an even spread of light for panel illumination, six bulbs are used, four in the back and two on the top. When the sidelights are switched ON, power is provided to the panel lamps on the R/B wire. The earth return path is via B wires and a link in the passenger compartment fuse box.

Automatic Transmission Selector Indicators

Automatic transmission indicator lights, mounted in the centre of the instrument panel, are lit in accordance with the position of the transmission selector. Power is fed on a Y wire from fuse 15 when the ignition is switched ON, and returned to earth via links to the selector switches.

Lights for the ’1’, ’2’, ’D3’, ’D4’, ’Neutral’, ’Reverse’, and ’Park’ positions are controlled on LG/W, G/Y, G/U, G/B, LG, G/R and G/W wires, respectively.
