ATF: replace
Check the tool and equipment equivalence table according to the applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Tray -T20173-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Protective glasses

–  Switch off engine
  Note
It is essential to take into account all of the test instructions and conditions in the section “Automatic gearbox: check the ATF level” → Chapter
–  Put the vehicle on a 4-post lift or over a workshop pit, to ensure it is completely horizontal.
–  Remove the central soundproofing → Booklet1.
  Note
t  Take into account the arrangements for the correct elimination of residues.
t  The engine must not be started nor the vehicle towed without ATF.
  WARNING
t  When working close to the radiator always maintain a minimum safety distance away from the fan. Failure to do so could result in an accident.
t  The fan may start on its own.
–  Fit tray -T20173- beneath gearbox.
  WARNING
Use protective goggles.

–  Undo the drain plug -A-.
–  Let the ATF come out.

–  Unscrew the overflow tube -C- and let the ATF drain out.

–  Fit the overflow tube -C-.

–  Add 3 litres of ATF (as shown in the → Spare parts catalogue) through the filler hose.
–  Start the engine and select all the gear lever positions one after another for approximately 10 seconds each.
–  Then, check and correct the ATF level → Chapter.
